unitednationsplaza in Mexico City and nightschool in New York

unitednationsplaza has been invited to present a month- long, condensed version of its Berlin program in Mexico City during March 2008. Our hosts in Mexico are two cultural organizations: PAC – a public association that organizes annual conferences on contemporary art there, and Casa Refugio – a municipal institution created in the late 60's to give shelter to persecuted intellectuals from all parts of the world. Our program for Mexico City will be a very intensive, back-to-back series of short seminars, screenings and performances taking place every day from March 1st to March 30th, including talks and workshops with Anselm Franke, Liam Gillick, Boris Groys, Nikolaus Hirsch, Chus Martinez, Martha Rosler, Natascha Sadr Haghighian, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Jalal Toufic, Jan Verwoert and Tirdad Zolghadr, as well as other contributions by Eduardo Abaroa, Julieta Aranda, Fia Backstrom, Regine Basha, Minerva Cuevas, Nico Dockx, Adriana Lara, Damian Ortega, Hila Peleg, Eduardo Sarabia, Angel Nevarez and Valerie Tevere.

In New York, the New Museum will be hosting nightschool – a new project of Anton based on unitednationsplaza. nightschool comprises a year long series of public seminars taking place during the last week of each month starting this January. nightschool will include contributions from Walid Raad & Jalal Toufic, Paul Chan, Maria Lind, Owkui Enwezor, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Zhang Wei, Hu Fang, Natascha Sadr Haghighian, Raqs Media Collective, Boris Groys, Martha Rosler and Liam Gillick. The first seminar, with Boris Groys, will start on Thursday, January 31st, 2008 at 7 PM.
