The Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism is an ambitious international exhibition project initiated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and organized by the Seoul Design Foundation. The bilingual logo combines the Korean and English names into a single form. It also suggests its shorter colloquial name (Seoul Biennale) while spelling out the official, full name. The free-form, typographic form incidentally recalls a cityscape (reflected in the Han River?). More simplified, abstract forms of the logo have also been designed for informal occasions. In applications, elements are arranged in a way that seeks and respects axes of symmetry, which is implicit in the form of the logo itself.
