The Arko Art Center is an institution affiliated with the Arts Council Korea, and it has a graphic identity program inherited from the Council. This project was to implement new visual “characters” to add to its existing identity, so that the institution could have a more distinct personality.
The new system is centered on a bespoke typeface, Arko Pix. Twenty-six select pictograms became the glyphs of the font, blurring the boundary between the verbal and the visual, to give a new voice to the Center. For the applications, we set some quotations about art in Arko Pix, and added them to the Center’s existing identity.
