Countdown
Countdown was organized as a pre-opening program of the old Seoul Station, which had been restored to its original form and repurposed as a cultural center. The graphic identity is centered on a modified Akzidenz Grotesk condensed typeface, where the baseline of the figure 0 (zero) and the character O is lifted, showing the anticipation for the final moment.
Reflecting the venue’s original function, the website is organized like a train schedule. We took the characteristics of “mobile sites” and applied them to the normal site. The resulting somewhat crude and awkward appearance on larger screens recalls the simplicity of the early World Wide Web pages – resonating, accidentally, with Culture Station Seoul 284’s initiative to start from zero.
