Solo exhibition
Graphic West 9: Sulki & Min was our first mid-career survey show. It was organized by DNP Foundation for Cultural Promotion as part of Graphic West – a series that focuses on the designers from outside of the Tokyo area – and curated by our frequent collaborator Goto Tetsuya. The goal was to show the breadth of our work, from commissioned projects to self-initiated and experimental works, from posters and books to generative videos and objects.
The exhibition had the feeling of a dense compendium, with 169 works packed in a room. A new screen-based work was made to extend on our printed posters, and our 2017 book Explained was translated by Goto Tetsuya and published to accompany the show. An online minisite was created to guide the audience and provide more information on the exhibits.
