they were in the wild
they were in the wild collects the outcomes of the performative writing project that Mårten Spångberg conducted as part of Ob/scene Festival 2020. The artist experimented with ways of “being together while staying apart” by writing a new story every day and posting it online during the festival. Critical of the reality that discourses on dance are always exchanged in English, the artist published this project exclusively in Korean. The book contains twenty essays in which the author reflects on such issues as what dance and arts can do, arts and ecology, and the way arts are mediated through technology. Produced not for sale, it was distributed with Ob/scene Festival 2020.
