Think Things
Think Things had two main themes: “play” as the most fundamental creative activity, and “things” as a catalyst for play. The participatory show was meant to provide a playground for experimentation, invention, and sharing.
The design of its graphic materials is centered on a set of photographs where children dressed in lab coats are playing with various objects related to the YCAM Open Lab, as well as more obscure ones such as the artificial rocks from a local indoor bouldering gym. An oblong table top with pebbles and branches – the most primitive tools, a symbol for the notion of homo faber – is a recurring motif, like a monolith in this DIY world. Typographic elements are arranged in a way that reflects how the objects are scattered over the space.
