Yellow Pages: Mapping Graphic Design Projects in East Asia

This is a special feature of Idea magazine (no. 383) devoted to the exhibition Graphic West 7: Yellow Pages (Kyoto DDD Gallery, 2018), which, in turn, was based on a series of articles focused on contemporary East Asian graphic design and published in Idea (2014–16). The feature discusses ideas, works, and social networks of the people showcased in the show, effectively extending the exhibition itself.

While the page structure and the typography largely follow the original magazine articles, we introduced different background colors as if revealing the fictitious colorful pages suggested on the promotional materials we designed for the exhibition. The yellow pages become pink pages, white pages, green pages, and blue pages.
