First out of the four planned issues of a magazine published by the Kunsthuis Syb in Frisland, the Netherlands. The theme of the issue is ‘orientation’, derived from the isolated location of the Kunsthuis itself. We decided to incorporate, as an integral part of concept, the geographic distance between us in Korea and the Kunsthuis. We asked them simple descrptions of their location and the appearance of their building and its neighborhood. Then we identified and photographed places in and around Seoul that somehow appeared to match the descriptions. The descriptions and the photographs are combined in the pages, upside down: reinforcing the sense of disorientation.
